I was reading this short story at the Drs. last friday. It was about this couple who were going to have sex for the first time on the beach when police cars pulled up. The police startled them and searched around in the water. They pulled out a drowned bloated blue pregnant women. Needless to say the couple did not get it on that night and every time they were close to getting intimate after it happened, the girl would freak out and think of the woman.

I would really like to finish that story right now. But I can't because I'm in the middle of Chapter 10 of Mass Media Law. And even though I'm taking a break right now, I can't constitute reading anything that is not academic, sigh. I just want to know what happened next.

I'm trying to figure out my schedule for next semester. It looks like I'll actually be able to get both my minors in which is crazy exciting! As it is now I would be taking Screenwriting, Magazine Writing, Advanced Fiction Writing, Marriage and Family, and International Communications. I might throw another sociology class on there to finish up that minor. hmmm

I hate the fact I only have 3 semesters left. Someone offer me a job right now so I don't have to worry about what will happen after April 2011, ok?

Despite all the great academic things that have happened to me this past week (that should have been ego boosters), I really dislike myself. Oh society, sometimes you just stink.

So, Disney is doing really well on the minority front. The first African- American princess will make her debut in their next animated film and I must say “bravo, it is long overdue”. But one thing I just can’t swallow is the fact this character’s waist is 12 inches around, just like Cinderella’s, Belle’s , Pocahontas’s, yada yada yada. Someone existing in reality would have to get a few ribs removed and wear a corset for 32 years to get a waist that is as tiny as these animated women, and then she would probably die soon after achieving this circumference.

I understand that beauty is sellable and no one will pay to watch an unattractive character for 2 hours (which is another thing that breaks my heart). But if you want to relate to and power young girls pleeeeease make a character with acne, tummy rolls, braces, etc. who is smart and brave and capable of being loved just as much as the next girl. THAT is how society is changed. THAT is how we start loving, accepting, and understanding each other. Stop giving me these cookie cutter bodies and show me a real women who is awesome beyond belief and beautiful in everything she does.

I want to see a girl who has to order a special size dress for the ball, I want to see a girl who dries her face out with zit cream because she can’t stand what’s there, and then I want to see these girls find true enlightenment and bliss that comes from the happily ever after.

On that note, I want to see one damn happily ever after that doesn’t involve a man!!!!!!!!!!

The Princess and the Frog is supposed to be about hard work, determination, and a young girl’s will to make it on her own. But she falls in love with an f-ing prince along the way! Hey society, over here, romantic love is not the force behind all happiness and fulfillment!!!!!! It drives me insane with frustration and anger. Dear girls, you rock out loud on your own. Get a man if you want one and it is the right thing for you but YOU DON’T NEED ONE!

Phew ok, that was a lot of unsuspected rage that came out there. Now if only Disney made a Mexican-American princess whose parents don’t speak English, who has to juggle school with a full time job, then I might be a little satisfied.
